A pattern change is on the way this week and will be accompanied by a threat for severe thunderstorms late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threats, mainly north of I-20.
Overview
- A strong storm system is expected to move out of the Western U.S. and into the Plains on Wednesday, sending a cold front into North Texas by Wednesday afternoon.
- Ahead of the front, scattered thunderstorms will develop and expand southward into North Texas late Wednesday afternoon into the nighttime hours.
- A few of these storms could be severe with primarily a large hail and damaging wind threat.
